An Exciting New Basquiat Biopic Is on the Way
Jean-Michel Basquiat’s story is one of inimitable genius, influence and tragedy. A forthcoming biopic directed by Julius Onah will seek to tell this story, marking the first time a Black director has portrayed the artist’s life on film. The feature, titled Samo Lives, will star Cyrano actor Kelvin Harrison Jr, who the director previously collaborated with on the Film Independent Spirit award-winning drama Luce, in the lead role.

Calotype from the Greek “Kalós + type” meaning “beautiful picture” are also known as Talbotypes, named for their inventor William Henry Fox Talbot who announced the invention in 1840 and later secured a patent in England on February 8, 1841. Calotype refers to the paper negative image exposed in the Camera Obscura, (Latin- Dark Chamber), and later developing out the Latent Image.
Mads Madison's Global Warming Series
Mads Madison is a visual artist and analog photographer based in Bamberg, Germany, where he works as a psychologist during the day, and as an experimental photographer by night. He has a very long history with photography which began in 2005 when he was just 15. During that time Mads' main passion was skateboarding, which he lived and breathed. When he dislocated his ankle and was unable to keep skating, he found a new way to contribute to the skate community: by digitally photographing his local skate scene in his hometown of Erlangen, Germany.
Bastian Kalous’s Expired Polaroids of an Eternal Land
German photographer Bastian Kalous has a habit transporting us to enchanting larger than life locations that we could only dream of visiting, that happens to be just outside his doorstep. The scenes he captures are a distinctive hybrid between breathtaking landscapes and intimate self-portraits that creates an instantaneous portal from his world to ours. This connection has allowed us to explore and experience stunning mountain peaks, enchanting vistas, and cold frozen forests that seem more like our own memories than photographs due to his innate ability to work with long expired Polaroid film stocks.
Julia Beyer - Our World In Flames
In the four years that have passed since Beyer began her instant film journey, she has become known for her unique photographic style utilizing expired Polaroid film stock. She has accomplished feats ranging from being published in Blur Magazine, interviewed on Analog Magazine to being featured on Polaroid’s Blog. In addition to her photographic accomplishments, she has recently been able to combine her love for music and photography into multiple projects. Her involvement in the music industry has enabled her to use her Polaroid creations as the cover images for the July 2018 Chandeen EP, Rouge, the May 2018 Phosphenes’ album, Find Us Where We're Hiding, as well as shoot promotion material for Laura Carbone’s 2018 album, Empty Sea.
